When Everybody Was Distracted, Marco Rubio May Have Just Blown Up the Republican Party
Rubio chimed in, "When they're done with the yoga, can I answer a question?"
Ohio Governor John Kasich was less certain, saying: "I kind of think before it's all said and done I'll be the nominee". It's beginning to sink in that this strategy nearly certainly depends on a "contested convention", the first for Republicans in forty years.
Those candidates are Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, John Kasich and frontrunner Donald Trump.
Trump also used the beginning of the debate to hit back at allegations he has small hands, stating "Look at these hands - are they small hands?"
Trump dismissed Romney as "a failed candidate" and an "embarrassment".
Trump called Rubio a "con artist" for missing a lot of Senate votes.
Trump, who has already been criticised by the American media for his brash and coarse campaign, brought up the issue while responding to comments by Senator Marco Rubio during a Republican debate on Thursday night. Did Cruz and Rubio elevate themselves at all in comparison to Trump, at least in a way that will translate into a seismic change in primary votes? Romney says he'd rather see someone other than Trump be the nominee outright on the first ballot but if that doesn't happen he'd like to see an open convention.
"It's time to make a change - now - a real change, by somebody who knows what he's doing", Trump said on MSNBC.
Despite Trump's strong showing on Tuesday, he was not yet on track to claim the nomination before the party's national gathering, according to an Associated Press delegate count.
"He's trying to do to the American voter what he did to the people who signed up to his [university]", he said.
Republican front runner Donald Trump made one of the most off-colour remarks of his party's 11 presidential debates on Thursday (March 3), in a veiled reference to his own genitals within minutes of the showdown's opening.
"This little guy has lied so much", Trump sneered, mocking Rubio's stature. She's done complimenting Rubio, and she referred to Trump's Super Tuesday speech as "presidential."
Mitt Romney said on Friday morning that he would do "everything within the normal political bounds" to keep Donald Trump from becoming the Republican nominee.
That was when Kelly's tough questioning about Trump's treatment of women blew up into a running argument between Fox and the candidate.
To say that numerous previous debates have been unintelligible might be an understatement, so for those of you who are looking for some substance, the candidates might actually have time to speak tonight. Carson may be gone, but Cruz' suggestion to drop out seems to be going nowhere with Rubio and Kasich. That could create a pathway to deny Trump the 1,237 delegates needed for nomination.
