Sanders has narrower lead over Clinton in New Hampshire

The Washington Free Beacon's Lachlan Markay said Friday that the Hillary Clinton campaign is getting close to "panic mode" as recent polls show 2016 Democratic nomination challenger Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) leading Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Over the past few months, Katy Perry, Lena Dunham, Abby Wambach and "Scandal" star Tony Goldwyn have all hit the trail on Clinton's behalf - a move meant to woo youth voters, many of whom have rallied behind Sanders. "Clinton's lead is evaporating in Iowa we understand why her campaign is panicking and saying absurd things", Sanders campaign spokesman Michael Briggs said in a statement.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton left many Iowa supporters upset after only speaking to them for five minutes on Thursday night. "For example, he suggested we invited into Iranian troops into Syria".

The poll, conducted after the latest Democratic debate in SC, also demonstrates the crossover appeal of two Republican candidates, with about 6% of likely Democratic voters saying they would be motivated to vote in the Republican primary instead of the Democratic one if either Donald Trump or Ohio Gov. John Kasich were on the ballot.

Still, the former secretary faces trust issues among likely New Hampshire Democratic voters.

Clinton began her remarks here by stressing that, compared to the candidates on the Republican side, she and Sanders disagree on relatively little. "I like his ideas, but he can't get them accomplished".

"Sen. Sanders doesn't talk very much about foreign policy". In fact, Sanders is closing in on Clinton in the polls. She's always felt it would not be an easy primary, and remember, he's next door to New Hampshire in Vermont, so you expect him to do well up there. It's an issue Clinton has recently used in attacks against her opponent, painting Sanders with an irresponsible record on firearm legislation while in Congress. "I am not interested in ideas that sound good on paper but will never make it in real life", Clinton said to the audience. According to the Huffington Post, it is a 60 second spot which includes the song "America" by Simon & Garfunkel.

Of Democrats who caucused in 2008, Clinton leads Sanders, 55% to 38%. The Sanders campaign also said its research didn't show that large of a lead.

In December, Clinton led Sanders in the Hawkeye State by 18 points in CNN/ORC's polling, 54% to 36%.
