The products will be available exclusively through the company's first store in Australia, which is due to open its doors on November 12.

While most customers in the USA can either pre-order Microsoft's latest fitness tracker from the company's online site or from one of several national store locations and partnering retailers such as Best Buy, finding the Band in worldwide regions can prove to be a bit more challenging.

The new Surface Book - Microsoft's laptop with pen and touch support - will be priced at $2299. Fortunately, Argos in the United Kingdom will be offering eager Microsoft Band 2 customers an alternative shopping destination as well as varied purchasing options. The Surface Pro 4 tablet will also be available, priced at $1349.

Celebrity guests have been booked to make appearances, including personal training team Base Body Babes.

The new Microsoft Band builds on the success of the original, introduced a year ago, delivering a more comfortable fit with a curved display and an improved Microsoft Health dashboard.

Opening day will climax with an evening performance by British pop singer Jessie J at the State Theatre, just around the corner from the store. Tickets will be available to the first 750 customers who visit the new store when it opens at mid-day.

Spread across two floors, and 500 square metres, at Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street Mall, the store will feature retail sales space along with an Answer Desk for technical questions, troubleshooting and repairs "regardless of the device or where it was purchased".
