The devices are apparently part of Samsung's first phase of android 6.0 upgrades which also feature updates for other devices like Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge in April, Galaxy s5 and Galaxy Tab S2 in May and for the Galaxy Alpha in June. BGR India has now learnt that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in India as early as next week. Previously, a supposed roadmap also appeared, indicating that Samsung flagships like the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will get their Android Marshmallow updates in February. While there is no official date mentioned for the launch of these devices, we can expect that to happen soon as they already got certified by TENAA. Like Apple's recently announced Trade Up With Installments plan, it allows owners of current Samsung Galaxy devices to upgrade their phones to the latest model after 12 months at not cost. Both Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones sport similar hardware. One of the differences between the two is the presence of a 3600mAh battery in the Galaxy S7 Edge compared to the 3000mAh battery in the Galaxy S7. Both are Super AMOLED displays with QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution.

To address the issues of heating, Samsung has incorporated liquid cooling technology in these two devices.

The camera protrusion has also been reduced in the new phones, from 1.68mm to 0.4mm. The devices will be available starting mid-March.
