Mirror's Edge Catalyst highlights movement and combat in two new trailers

Mirror's Edge Catalyst Videos Reveal Game's Movement And Combat

'Mirror's Edge Catalyst' Gameplay Information Announced [VIDEO]

Zip wires, ledge balancing, climbing and some items that expand Faith's abilities are also shown, and the combat seems both fluid and challenging in Mirror's Edge Catalyst.

EA and DICE have released some videos showing off Mirror's Edge Catalyst's core gameplay.

Mirrors Edge Catalyst is out in May 2016. "Shift" provides a short burst of acceleration in any direction, while "Quickturn" provides a rapid 180 or 90 degree turn in case of a "quick change of plan".

There's also an even cooler video which is all about movement, and just how fast and far Faith can go.

Mag Rope - Latches on to specific points in the world, allowing for unique traversal and interaction opportunities.

You play that same courier, Faith, in this new title - which actually works as some kind of prequel to what we've already played.

Gamers will have to build up Focus to stay invulnerable and, when that fails, mix and match their attacks to keep enemies off balance or stun them. Faith notably can not use guns in this instalment, as the developers intended for the game to focus on evasion and movement, rather than combat. Using the environment in combat will build Focus, as well as maintaining movement and action.

Enemies can't hit faith when she has Focus active, so losing it means things are much more risky.

Catalyst is looking better with each new gameplay video and each piece of information.

The first-person action adventure Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a reboot from the first game, a retelling focused more around Faith's origin story as she learns about herself to become one of the key fighters against the megacorporations that control the city of Glass.
