Review: Pebble Time Round Smart Watch

Unfortunately, the thinness of the Pebble Time Round comes at a cost: the battery lasts only about two days before needing a recharge, unlike the week or so that other Pebble watches last. With a $250 price tag, the Pebble Time Round is competing with other reasonably high-priced smart wearables that run Android Wear.

Pebble has made its first round smartwatch available through its online store today. Nearly everyone said that it has an attractive design, but this Pebble ditches the week-long battery life and water resistance in favor of that design.

Like the Pebble Time, the Pebble Time Round features a microphone for voice.

At 7.5mm thin and weighing in at only 28 grams, Pebble says the Time Round is the thinnest and lightest smartwatch on the planet.

The good news is that the new watch supports quick charging.

It will also be available from Amazon and Pebble.com. However, while it is in the same family, and with the same colour Pebble OS and Timeline software, the Pebble Time Round is aimed at a very different watch wearer.

"On iOS, you're limited to viewing incoming notifications and little more". And for those of us with wrists that are more like twigs than tree trunks, there's an added bonus: it actually fits. "Its circular, all-metal chassis and options for both leather and metal straps make this a device to behold". For those that want to go into a store and buy the watch the old-fashioned way, you can head into Best Buy or Target locations and pick it up for $249.99.
