Memphis Tigers fall to No. 25 in AP Coaches polls

The University of Memphis football team is still ranked in both major polls after suffering its first loss of the season Saturday night - but only barely.

The Tigers fell to No. 25 in both the Associated Press' Top 25 and the Amway Coaches Poll, which were released Sunday.

In the latest poll, the Bulldogs rose four spots to No. 20.

Three teams from the Pac-12 remain in the Top 25 of both polls with Stanford still as the highest-ranked team from the conference at No. 7/7, followed by Utah (No. 10/13), and UCLA (No. 18/18).

Since September 21 last season following a win at LSU, State has been ranked for 18 weeks.

The Ole Miss Rebels dropped out of both polls after their overtime loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Clemson topped the AP Poll with Ohio Sate at No. 2.

The AP top four is Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama and Baylor.

The Tigers were defeated by Navy 45-20 Saturday in the Liberty Bowl. Clemson was also ranked No. 1 in last week's CFP rankings.

Mississippi State (7-2, 3-2 SEC) continued its rise up the AP Poll following its 31-13 win over Missouri (4-5, 1-5) on Thursday.
