Kelly Stafford gets fired up, defends husband's intelligence

She called Lombardi "desperate" and even cited Stafford's Wonderlic store.

After the bloodbath in Detroit this week, in which a bunch of coaches got fired after their 1-7 start, Kelly Stafford said, "Heard that one of the coaches, who got fired, came after matthew's intelligence".

That report upset Lions' backup Dan Orlovsky which prompted him to defend Stafford's intelligence in a tweet to Rapoport.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Around the National Football League that the recently-fired Lombardi was "frustrated" that Stafford struggled to grasp the offense, and that Lombardi felt he could not put too much on Stafford's plate.

Kelly has made it perfectly clear she stands with her husband for better or for worse, already lashing out at the Motor City for turning its back on her man this season.

The Detroit Lions have a long history of sucking, but in recent seasons, the team broke tradition and tried winning.
