Patriots coaches experience tablet issues in AFC Championship Game
Unfortunately it seems that over the weekend, Microsoft's Surface tablets failed midway during the AFC Championship game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots, where the tablets suddenly stopped working for the Patriots, which obviously was a huge inconvenience to the team. National Football League officials reportedly say Denver did not have to shut their tablets down just to compensate for New England's not working.
Now, it's unlikely there's anything to see here, especially since CBS Sports' Evan Washburn said shortly after on the broadcast that the situation had been resolved and the Patriots no longer were having issues with the tablets. "A lot of frustration that they didn't have them that last possession".
The Patriots' tablets resumed to working order after the brief interruption. "Our team on the field has confirmed the issue was not related to the tablets themselves but rather an issue with the network", the firm said.
Teams use the Surface tablets to view formation photos and replays of previous plays to help plan for the next play. Well, against the Broncos on Sunday, the Patriots experienced their own issues with malfunctioning technology. The company worked with the network providers, and quickly took care of it.
The Surface Pros have been referred to as iPads by commentators, while the tablets have been routinely thrown about by infuriated players, although whether it's what the Windows computers have been showing or the machines themselves that has caused the toys-out-of-the-pram moments isn't known.
Reporter Sean Jensen, who tweeted the image above, added, "Second time this season I've personally heard the @Microsoft tablet getting crushed during an #NFL game". This feature, which comes with the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, allow users to hook up one a handsets to a monitor, QWERTY keyboard and a mouse via the Display Dock.
