Arthur Darvill (who plays the time traveling Rip Hunter) played another time time traveler, Rory Williams, on the BBC program.
The show will also feature guest appearances from Arrow characters like Green Arrow/Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), Black Canary (Caity Lotz), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), and Ra's al Ghul (Matthew Nable), plus The Flash characters like Barry Allen as the Flash (Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon as Vibe (Carlos Valdes).
The website also adds that characters are based on the characters from DC Comics' "DC Legends of Tomorrow" and is from Bonanza Productions Inc., in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. They will be joined by new characters including Jeff Jackson (Franz Drameh) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee). The main villain of the series will be Vandal Savage, who was introduced in this year's special crossover episode.
Legends of Tomorrow airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW. Originally The CW planned to only make one DC Comics superhero show, but pressure from fans has lead to not only one, but two spin-offs.
The overall premise of this new series is that when ordinary heroes fall short, mankind will need legends, and most all, they'll need these Legends of Tomorrow. Rip Hunter explains that he's chosen the eight heroes featured on the show to fight against him.
The CW put out a video of cast interviews, where the actors talk about the show.
While the Arrowverse has no official connection to the DC cinematic universe, in a trailer for Legends of Tomorrow trailer, Rip Hunter warns, "I've seen men of steel die and dark knights fall", obvious references to Superman and Batman.
As the season progresses, Legends of Tomorrow will hop from the present to the Cold War to the future and back again while his mismatched team struggles to become a cohesive whole.
