Jada Pinkett Smith's Fish Mooney character to return to 'Gotham'

Jada Pinkett Smith to Return as Fish Mooney on Gotham

Gotham: Jada Pinkett Smith's Fish Is Coming Back

Jada Pinkett Smith will return to "Gotham" in Season 2, Variety has confirmed. Ask all the white male characters on the show who are intimidated or threatened by Fish Mooney and her presence. Although the character ended up presumably dead after last season's finale, the actress portraying her, Jada Pinkett-Smith, just recently signed on to reprise the role on the series.

We last saw Fish Mooney at the end of Season 1, when the Penguin threw her off of the roof of a warehouse into the ocean below. Well, in traditional comic book story fashion, things aren’t what they seemed, as Fish will be resurfacing this season. She started out as one of Carmine Falcone’s top underbosses, but she was plotting the whole time to overthrow the old man. While she did gain ground briefly, eventually her plans were discovered, and she was forced to flee Gotham City.

"I would definitely not assume anything in a town like Gotham".

Considering that Fish lives for revenge, it's likely that Penguin's life is about to get a lot more complicated (unless, of course, we only see Fish in flashbacks).

Gotham returns with new episodes Monday, February 29 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. But I did learn that Fish Mooney is the only major character on the show that doesn't come from the comics. "She's a criminal. She chose to be a criminal, instead of a doctor".
