Sarah Palin endorses Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump during a rally at the Iowa State University

Former Alaska governor and VP candidate Sarah Palin has just announced she is supporting Donald Trump in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. "I just want to win", Trump said. The officer said Palin had an injury to his right eye and surrounding area, smelled strongly of alcohol and acted with escalating hostility, prompting Kappler to put him in handcuffs.

So though it is not clear what kind of impact Palin's endorsement will have on Trump's campaign in the long run, her ties to Iowa may be the boost he needs to overcome Ted Cruz in the Hawkeye State's polls.

Ms Palin was a "trusted conservative" with a "proven record of being fiscally modest, staunchly pro-life and [she] believes in small government that allows businesses to grow and freedom to prosper", the statement added.

"Trump's temporary ban proposal is in the context of doing all we can to force the Feds to acknowledge their lack of strategy to deal with terrorism", she wrote.

Asked Tuesday morning about his thoughts on a potential Palin endorsement, as rumors of her potential backing swirled, Trump said, "I'm a big fan of Sarah Palin".

Vaclav said he has not yet decided upon a Republican candidate to support, but that Trump is among his top three along with Cruz and Florida Sen.

Earlier Tuesday, Cruz faced another blow to his efforts in Iowa, after the state's Republican Gov. Terry Branstad said at a renewable fuels conference near Des Moines that Iowans should reject Cruz because he supports phasing out the fuel standard.

Eldest son Track is being held on charges of fourth-degree assault, interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime and possession of a firearm while intoxicated, the Daily News reported.

Palin, a favorite of many tea party members and grassroots conservatives, went on to deliver a glowing endorsement of the real estate mogul, praising the fact that Trump's experience is in the private sector rather than in government.

Palin was vice-presidential nominee when Republican John McCain ran unsuccessfully for the presidency in 2008.

And, as Palin herself noted, she brings even more heightened attention, media coverage and notoriety to Trump's campaign, which has hardly been lacking for any of those things.

According to documents filed in a Wasilla court, Palin, 26, oldest of the 5 children of Sarah and Todd Palin, was armed with an AR-15 assault rifle.

Palin is expected to attend two campaign events with Trump Wednesday in Iowa.

In a rambling speech, delivered in her folksy style and peppered with a "you betcha!" and a "doggone!"

When police arrived they interviewed Track Palin, who "was uncooperative, belligerent and evasive" to questions.

"I'd love that because she really is somebody that knows what's happening and she's a special person", he said.
