Now his production company Bad Robot has pulled off one of the great reveals in horror movie history, after unveiling a surprise trailer for an unannounced sequel to mock-doc monster movie Cloverfield.

Abrams' statement to Collider, "The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible".
