Report: Apple Watch 2 in March is highly unlikely
Rumor has it that Apple wants to launch the new Watch 2 in March, together with the 4-inch iPhone 6c, but a report coming from TechCrunch and citing several unknown sources says that this is very unlikely to be the case. It's all speculation at this point since Apple hasn't confirmed anything about its smartwatch plans as yet.
According to TechCrunch's Matthew Panzarino, Apple Watch 2 will include newer casings and improved battery life, but it won't arrive in the March-April timeframe that has been previously rumored.
Panzarino noted that perhaps news on the Apple Watch such as accessories and design partnerships could be unveiled at the March event, but most likely not the Apple Watch 2. Several things that I've heard (from several sources) indicate to me that we won't see a major new hardware model of the Apple Watch in March.
Panzarino is skeptical that Apple will unveil its redesigned second-gen wearable in two months.
The tech veteran also suggested that Creative Strategies is closely looking on some new patterns in the Cupertino-based company and as of now, these new patterns are yet to show some structure. We'll update you if we get to hear anything more about the alleged Apple Watch 2. "Shipping hardware well in advance of a even beta software that developers can use to take advantage of new features isn't something that usually turns out well", Panzarino said.
A customer inspects an Apple Watch at the Apple Store on June 17, 2015 in San Francisco, California. Some say that this will be the change coming to the refreshed Apple Watch in March. Apple likes to update its products once a year, but the Apple Watch could call for a longer replacement cycle than an iPhone due to its "lighter" interactions. But as of now, March seems like it's a bit too early to count on Watch 2.0. Because of this, it is possible that Apple is also taking the time to look for other suppliers when it comes to the said watch.
