Juan Mata believes that it is unlikely that Manchester United will be able to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid in the coming months. His future has been brought into question in recent weeks after his chatter with PSG.

The Real Madrid footballer said he would not like to follow the likes of Xavi (who signed with Qatari club Al Sadd in May) or Andrea Pirlo and finish his career outside of Europe's top leagues.

"I am not sure it is such a good thing for Cristiano to come back", says Neville in several Sunday newspapers.

Ronaldo, a three-time World Player of the Year, left Old Trafford to join Real Madrid for a world-record fee of £80 million in 2009.

Yet again, Ronaldo failed to rule out a return to Manchester United in his interview with Jonathan Ross which aired over the weekend.

United hope the emotional lure of a return to Old Trafford would swing in their favour, but Ronaldo has made no secret of his desire to seek a new challenge.

The 1998 World Cup victor also added, "Do I see him going to Real Madrid?".

Bale is more open to a move to United than ever before, mostly because of ongoing struggles to fully adapt to the team or the city.

"If anyone pays his clause then we should just let him go", the president is reported to have said to one of his close directors.

Ronaldo is now rumoured to be dating Italian model and actress Alessia Tedeschi but the 30-year-old Portugal captain also claimed that while he had little problem meeting members of the opposite s*x, finding people he wants to start a relationship with is really hard.

Asked if he could move into the dugout when he retires from playing, Ronaldo said: "No, I have no passion to coach".

However, a summer transfer is far more likely, meaning the Dutchman would have to decide whether the two-time PFA Players' Player of the Year is worth waiting for.
